The Safer Internet Day 2017 theme is Be the change: Unite for a better internet

This year Safer Internet Day was used to create a kind, respectful and inclusive internet environment within the world through raising awareness about a huge issue in the online world, online hate. Further information on these issues can be found in the Info packs and SID TV films which will be available to watch on the website.

Plus, you can get involved in the #shareaheart social media campaign to help inspire kindness online.

  • Start planning an education session for young people, parents or staff in your school, workplace or community using our Safer Internet Day Education Packs.
  • Help spread the word by promoting the day on social media, or through your website or newsletter.
  • Join the Safer Internet Day Thunderclap and help kick start a day of trending on social media on Safer Internet Day.

  • Listen to young people about their experiences online and give them opportunities to have their say.
